Managing Your Account

The Flash Seats® Account area allows you to manage the personal information you've entered on the Flash Seats site. See the following sections for details on your account:

Account Balance

Your Flash Seats balance is the amount of money you have in your Flash Seats account. This money comes from tickets you've sold to other Flash Seats account holders. To access the Balance page, click Account. The Account Balance page appears.

In addition to showing you the value of your balance, the Account Balance page shows the transactions you’ve made that affect your balance. Transactions that affect your balance are purchases, sales, or transfers to a bank account.

For each transaction that affects your balance, you’ll see the following information:

If you have more balance transactions than will appear on one page, you can use the arrows on the upper and lower right side to navigate to other pages.

Uses for Your Balance

You can use your Flash Seats balance for several different transactions:

Transferring Your Balance to Your Bank Account

If you don't want to use your balance to purchase tickets through Flash Seats, you have the option to transfer the money to a bank account through an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). For some teams that use Flash Seats, you can also use the money in your account toward season ticket renewal via an EFT. The buttons next to the Current Balance information at the top of the page--EFT and Financial Accounts--are related to EFTs.

Financial Accounts

The Financial Accounts page lets you manage the credit cards and bank accounts associated with your Flash Seats account. You can also initiate Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) through this page. To access the Financial Accounts page, click Account, and then click Financial Accounts.

See the following sections for more details on Financial Accounts:

Uses of Credit Cards and Bank Accounts

In the Flash Seats system, credit cards are used for two purposes: entering the venue and purchasing tickets. Any credit cards you want to use for either purpose are added and maintained on the Financial Accounts page or the Identification page.

Note: You cannot use gift cards issued by banks or credit card companies to purchase seats on the Flash Seats system.

The Financial Accounts page also allows you to add bank accounts. Bank accounts are used for EFTs (Electronic Funds Transfers) from your Flash Seats account balance to a bank account you add. For more information on EFTs, go to Transferring Money via EFT.

Security of Credit Card and Bank Account Data

Flash Seats takes the security of your data very seriously and uses the most advanced and current technology to ensure the protection of your data. In the Flash Seats system, all customer data, including credit card numbers and bank account information, is transferred via secure channels. You can see that the encryption is working when a lock icon appears in your Internet browser. In addition to encrypting customer data, we also use multiple layers of security around our servers and data centers. All of this ensures that your data is protected.

Your account balance is the amount of money you have in your Flash Seats account.

To view your account balance:

  1. Click Account. The Account Balance page appears, which details the amount of money you currently have available in your account to purchase tickets on the Flash Seats site. You can also transfer part or all of your balance to your bank account, and for some teams using Flash Seats, you have the option to use the money in your account toward season ticket renewal--for details on how to do this, see the Transferring Money via EFT section.

Adding Credit Cards or Bank Accounts

You can have multiple credit cards or bank accounts associated with your account.

Adding a Credit Card

Credit cards can be used to purchase tickets or as identification to enter events. Unless you have enough money in your Flash Seats account balance, you need to add a credit card in order to bid on or buy tickets. Flash Seats recommends that you add at least one credit card to your account because the magnetic stripes work more reliably than other forms of ID when swiping in at an event.

Note: You cannot use gift cards issued by banks or credit card companies to purchase seats on the Flash Seats system.

To add a new credit card:

  1. Click Account, and then click Financial Accounts.
  2. In the Would you like to add a new account section, click Credit Card, and then click the Add New Account button.
  3. Complete the credit card information:
  4. Choose the billing address for the card. You can choose the address that is currently associated with your Flash Seats account or enter a new address.

Important! The address you enter MUST EXACTLY MATCH the address where you receive billing statements for this credit card. If any part of the address is incorrect or missing, any purchase you try to make with this credit card may not go through, and the credit card company may put a hold on the funds you attempted to use for the purchase.

  5. Click the Add button.

For details on using your credit card to enter events, go to Entering the Venue.

Adding a Bank Account

You can transfer money in your Flash Seats account to your checking or savings account through the EFT feature. To do this, you need to enter the details of your checking or savings account. For details on using the EFT feature, go to Transferring Money via EFT.

To add a bank account:

  1. Click Account, and then click Financial Accounts.
  2. In the Would you like to add a new account section, click Bank Account.
  3. Click the Add New Account button. The EFT: Add Bank Account button appears.
  4. Complete the bank account information:
  5. Choose the billing address for the banking account. You can choose the address that is currently associated with your Flash Seats account or enter a new address.
  6. Important! The address you enter MUST EXACTLY MATCH the address where you receive statements for this bank account. If any part of the address is incorrect or missing, any transaction you try to make with this bank account may not go through, and the bank may put a hold on the funds you attempted to use for the transaction.

  7. Click the Add button.

Editing Credit Cards or Bank Accounts

If you need to edit information for credit cards or bank accounts (for example, if the expiration date or address changes), you can easily do this through the Financial Accounts page.

Note: To change the credit card number, you need to delete the current credit card that is registered and add a new one.

Important! If the credit card associated with your Flash Seats account is lost or stolen and you are re-issued a new card, please be sure to update the credit card information in Flash Seats.

To edit credit cards or bank accounts:

  1. Click Account, and then click Financial Accounts.
  2. Find the credit card or bank account, and then click the Edit button in the Action column. A page appears, showing you the current information for your credit or bank account.
  3. Make the necessary changes to any of the information.
  4. When you are done entering the updated information, click the Update button.

  2. Find the credit card or bank account you want to remove, and then click the Remove button in the Action column. A page appears showing the credit card or bank account information.
  3. Click the Yes, remove now button. The account is removed.

Transferring Money via EFT

You can transfer money from your Flash Seats account to a bank account or a season ticket renewal account (if the team allows this function).

EFT Basics

Flash Seats' EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) feature allows you to transfer any money you've accumulated from selling tickets to your checking or savings account. For some teams that use Flash Seats, you can also use the money in your account toward season ticket renewal. There are several steps involved in transferring money from your Flash Seats account to your bank account using an EFT, including credit card and Automated Clearing House processing, each of which takes several days. While it is electronic, an EFT is not an immediate transfer of funds like a wire transfer. An EFT generally takes 10 to 14 business days to complete. You can request two EFTs per month, but you cannot request the second transfer until the first transfer has cleared.

In order to use the EFT feature to transfer money to a bank account, you need to add the account you want to transfer the money into and then initiate the transfer. If you are using your account balance to renew season tickets for a team that participates in this option, you simply need to initiate the transfer.

After you add a bank account to your Flash Seats account, you have the option to transfer your balance to a bank account you designate. 4. From the Transfer To drop-down, choose the bank account you want to transfer your balance to. If you have multiple bank accounts set up in the system, the last four digits of an account number show for each account, so you can easily determine which account to choose.

  6. Click the Continue button. A page appears, summarizing the details of the transfer.
  7. Click the Confirm Transfer button. A page appears, confirming that the request to transfer the money has been processed.

Transferring Money from Flash Seats to a Season Ticket Renewal Account

Some teams that use Flash Seats may allow you to use your Flash Seats account balance toward renewal of your season tickets. If this is the case, you have the option to transfer money via EFT into a season ticket renewal account for that team.

To transfer money to a season ticket renewal account:

  1. Click Account. The Account Balance page appears.

  5. Click the Continue button. A page appears, summarizing the details of the transfer.

Profile

The Profile page details the personal information associated with your account, including your name, phone number, address, date of birth, and security information. This page allows you to view the details of your profile. In addition, you can update your profile information by completing/updating any of the fields on the page, and then clicking the Update button.

To access the Profile page, click Account, and then click Profile.

Options

The Options page allows you to define your preferences on how the Flash Seats system and its features work. Currently, the Options page contains the BidSafe™ setting, which allows you to define how you want the system to handle bids you place on multiple sets of tickets for the same event. By default, Flash Seats checks the Activate BidSafe checkbox.

When BidSafe is activated, you can bid on different sets of tickets for the same event knowing that only one of your bids can be accepted. All your other bids for the event will be automatically retracted when any of your bids is accepted and your payment is processed.

For those rare customers who wish to potentially win multiple bids for an event, BidSafe can be turned off. Simply click Account, click Options, and then deselect the Activate BidSafe checkbox.

Caution! When you deactivate BidSafe and you bid on multiple sets of tickets for an event, your bids may result in multiple ticket purchases for that event. You are responsible for payment in full for tickets you purchase.

Email

Because Flash Seats is an entirely electronic ticketing system, you need to have an email address associated with your Flash Seats account. When you registered with Flash Seats, you were required to enter an email address. The Email page allows you to add or remove email addresses from your account.

Notifications from Flash Seats about sales, purchases, bids, or transfers will be sent to the current login email address for your account. For this reason, you want to make sure that the email address you designate as current is one that you check on a regular basis. When you are selling, buying, or bidding on tickets through Flash Seats, be sure to check your email on a regular and frequent basis, so you'll be aware of any tickets you receive or sell.

See the following sections for details on emails:

Identification

The Identification page allows you to add, edit, and remove the identification cards you want to use to enter events for which you have tickets. In order to gain entry to events, you'll need to swipe your identification card, so we recommend that you add identification cards that have intact magnetic stripes. Generally, credit cards tend to have reliable magnetic stripes, so we recommend that you add at least one credit card as an identification card. You'll add, edit, and remove any credit cards through the Identification page or Financial Accounts page. At the current time, you can add California, Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas driver's licenses to your account.

Account Holders with No Identification

Although any Flash Seats account holders who have a valid ID should add it to their account, there are fans who want to use tickets from a transfer through Flash Seats who don't have a valid form of ID. Typically, these fans are students under the age of 18.

Note: Fans under 18 cannot register as an account holder with Flash Seats, but they can add their ID to another account holder's account (e.g., teenage children can add their IDs to a parent's account).

Contact Flash Seats Customer Service at customerservice@flashseats.com to see what entry options are available for people with no identification.

To enter events you have tickets to, you need to add some form of identification to your Flash Seats account, so it can be swiped when you enter the venue. Important! The address you enter MUST EXACTLY MATCH the address where you receive billing statements for this credit card. If any part of the address is incorrect or missing, any purchase you try to make with this credit card may not go through, and the credit card company may put a hold on the funds you attempted to use for the purchase.

  6. Click the Add button.

Editing Identification Cards

You may need to edit the information associated with your identification cards. For example, if you’re issued a new license, you need to change the expiration and issue dates.
